The job: A world leading publisher of illustrated non-fiction books selling to mass market outlets in the UK, US, Europe and Australia, is looking for a talented and committed senior project editor to lead a team and project manage a list of licensed children’s titles. Reporting to the Managing Editor, the person appointed will be responsible for team management, systems and processes, administration and management of the projects. Responsibilities include managing a group of assistant editors effectively, collaborating with designers and safety testing specialists, liaising with licensors and out of house contributors; monitoring workload, schedules and quality control, contributing ideas for new or improved processes, and commercial ideas for new books. The person: Candidates will need to be committed and meticulous editors with extensive children’s non-fiction book experience, with experience of managing both projects and people, able to work quickly in a fast paced environment, with a clear understanding of the requirements of high-profile licensed products. The ability to plan and monitor the progress of all aspects of the project, and an understanding of the ways to minimise potential problems are also important requirements.
