The job: A leading publisher of popular culture books, graphic novels, film & TV tie-ins, and a very successful children’s list is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Publicist. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all press activities in the UK and liaising/ strategizing with US Press Agent for US market outreach. Other important aspects of this exciting role include: author management and conceiving, securing and managing author and talent events in major UK cities; helping devise marketing plans and strategies for key titles; securing interviews, features and coverage in UK Broadcast Media, reviews in UK National print press and in online national, genre and culture websites.

The person: Candidates will need to have knowledge of UK media in broadcast, print and online; they must have ready-to-go contacts in UK media and book industry trade papers and websites; previous experience in book publishing in a press capacity; must have prior experience working with third party agents and a knowledge of pop culture including popular TV and movies. Interest in or understanding of graphic novels, Sci-Fi and cult music artists are also important as well as previous experience with licensors or author estates. This role will suit an experienced Publicist with proven creative flair, strong presentation skills and a keen interest in the relevant subject areas.
