The job: A successful licensing and brand management company with a high profile portfolio of quality family entertainment products across all media, including well known literary works and characters, is looking for a creative and innovative SVP of Publishing. Reporting to the Managing Director the successful candidate will be responsible for developing world-wide strategies and ventures to maximise value and revenue from these brands. Key responsibilities include: developing and presenting strategic plans; creating annual revenue budgets and ensuring that these targets are met; working closely with publishers to ensure that maximum performance and value is achieved from key partners; leading and managing all publishing renewals, analysing trends and new publishing opportunities, including e-books, and effective management of the publishing team.

The person: Candidates will need significant international publishing experience at a senior level, ideally with both adult and children’s literary fiction, and with high profile brands. Innovative leadership, vision and strategy are essential, along with a track record in managing and creating good working relationships with authors and rights’ owners. The role requires excellent negotiation and presentation skills, including the preparation and management of business plans. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who can comfortably work with peers and colleagues in a highly collaborative way and can motivate and supervise a team. Our client requires a self motivated person with a high level of intelligence and personal drive who is passionate about the market and staying current on social, cultural and political trends and events; a strategist who can analyse and decipher what is going on in various business segments, and a results focused manager who can deliver continued success and growth.
