The job: Our client, a high-profile publisher of consumer non-fiction books is seeking to appoint a Deputy Managing Director. This is a wholly new role and reflects the continued growth of this innovative and highly successful company. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Deputy MD will take responsibility for all editorial functions and a number of other departments.

The person: Candidates are likely to already be a Deputy MD or at Publisher level ready to take their next upward career-step. A track record in commercial non-fiction publishing is essential. A good understanding of finance and sound budgeting management skills; excellent management and people-skills are an absolute pre-requisite. Candidates should also be highly creative with a thorough understanding of the entire publishing process.

Ideally candidates will have a track record in editorial alternatively it is just possible the person appointed may have worked in sales and marketing.
