SELECTION
Sales Executive [STM]

The job: A professional organisation which creates specialist products and services for the civil engineering and construction markets is looking for a Sales Executive to develop and manage sales of their print book products. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the overall responsibility will be to manage the relationships with print book sales channel partners and increase subscriptions and purchases to academic, research and corporate institutions worldwide. Key accountabilities include: managing third party agents, distributors and book sales representatives to maximise output and revenue; working with the Sales Manager to develop a book sales development strategy and set up annual sales revenue targets; formulating, negotiating and agreeing sales proposals and monitoring financial performance during the year and advising on forecasts for year-end figures. Other responsibilities include working with a development team to conceptualise, develop, and deliver new publishing products and collaborating with marketing colleagues to co-ordinate sales activities with marketing campaigns.

The person: Candidates will ideally be graduates with related experience and / or training with a proven track record in book sales. Experience in the publishing industry including STM book sales markets and a solid understanding of the library market is essential. They will have excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills matched with well developed consultative sales skills and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be results oriented, well organised and a resourceful self starter with the ability to develop effective relationships. Proficiency with MS Office and knowledge of working with CRM databases is also essential.

Salary: Excellent salary depending on experience and including benefits and commission.
