The job: The publications division of a well known professional scientific society is seeking to recruit a Sales Executive to work on their book publications, commencing as soon as possible. Working in a support role to the Sales Manager the main purpose of the role is to identify and develop sales opportunities for all print productions to existing and potential key UK accounts. Responsibilities include contributing to budget planning and sales forecasting of UK print sales; participating in sales team meetings; contributing to print-run decisions; attending national and international conferences; and helping to organise an annual Book Sales Conference. The person: Ideally graduate, candidates will need experience of working in an STM publishing sales role with a proven track record of sales to high level customers. Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to negotiate effectively should be matched with articulate verbal and written skills and first class administration. Ability to prioritise workload and work efficiently, autonomously and proactively under pressure is also important as is previous experience of database operation and competent use of MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop.
