The job: A leading STM publisher is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Director. Reporting to the Managing Director the jobholder will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of all sales activities. This will include organisation of business/sales development strategies and budgeting and financial management. In addition they will play a major role in leading sales growth initiatives and projects, and representing the company to clients and suppliers. They will be expected to provide proactive team leadership and to promote a stimulating working environment. The person: Applicants must be able to demonstrate an extensive track record in publishing sales management, preferably in the STM markets. A good understanding of the UK and European markets is essential. Experience of implementing market-driven strategies for growth with a strong customer care ethos are required. First class budgeting and financial management skills are also important. Applicants should also be good team leaders and motivators, with excellent communication skills.
