The job: A leading UK production company serving the international publishing industry to provide print and production brokering facilities and full production functions is seeking to appoint a Production Controller to work in their Paris office. Main duties include drawing up accurate specifications from customer briefs, preparing and ensuring schedules, production and delivery and raising purchase and shipping orders and invoices. Regular contact with customers is an essential part of the role and will include email and telephone contact along with customer meetings where appropriate.

The person: Candidates will need to be fluent in French and English. Experience working in a publisher's or printer's production department is essential, ideally with technical knowledge of book production processes, including digital workflows and four-colour printing. Excellent knowledge of paper and boards and a solid understanding of printing and binding processes along with ability to understand customer needs and to advise appropriately are essential. A clear understanding of shipping process is also required. Experience of working on novelty products and books-plus would be an advantage. Good IT skills, numeracy, an eye for detail and strong team working skills and an ability to maintain a sense of humour under pressure are also important.
