The job: A prestigious professional society that includes a major publishing division, providing scientific information through journals, books and electronic delivery, is looking for an experienced UK and Export Key Account Manager. Reporting to the General Sales Manger the job holder will be responsible for identifying and exploiting new areas in the sale and distribution of the organisations Publishing products and services. This will involve identifying key external partners and customers, sustainable services, systems and post- sales strategies. Key to the role will be assessing and reporting on key business trends and developments in publishing with a particular focus on establishing mechanisms for increased access to and revenue from online products. Travel in the UK and overseas is a key part of this exciting role.

The person: Candidates will need significant Sales experience of STM publishing and solid experience of marketing and electronic publishing. Whilst a science degree would be useful it is not an essential prerequisite. Good knowledge of services available on the internet will be key particularly in the areas of science and technology. Candidates will also need demonstrable ability to devise and execute development plans, plan and monitor budgets and expenditure and drive business development and strategy. This should be accompanied by excellent interpersonal skills and first class communication and presentation skills. Excellent negotiation skills are essential.
