The job: A small, expanding and dynamic educational publisher of high quality print and electronic learning resources for schools throughout the UK, is seeking to appoint a creative and driven Secondary Publisher to further develop an already successful Secondary Schools list. The job holder will be responsible for managing projects, developing new titles, identifying new market opportunities and contributing to future publishing strategy. They will be responsible for managing multiple print and digital learning projects, creating detailed functional specifications for all digital aspects of the projects. Briefing and managing internal and external development teams including authors, designers, editors and consultants are also important aspects of the role. Other duties will include the continual development of the secondary schools market. Some travel will be involved in visiting schools, observing classroom and e-learning initiatives and attending conferences and focus groups. The person: Candidates will need a solid understanding of print and publishing processes with a minimum of 3 years publishing experience gained within Education Publishing. Knowledge of the Secondary Education market is essential ideally with 2-3 years in Key Stage 3. Teaching or classroom experience would be a positive advantage as would knowledge of curriculum software development. Market knowledge and excellent project management abilities should be matched with excellent creative thinking skills.
