The job: One of the UK's major international academic and professional publishers is looking for an experienced and resourceful Marketing Executive who will take responsibility for planning and assisting in the management of the full range of marketing activity for their significant list of STM journals, produced in both print and online format. Reporting to and working closely with the Journals Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will be fully involved in strategy planning, project management, and supporting the implementation of all marketing plans, including market research and reporting, managing the web presence, sales data analysis, and liaising with designers and production. The person: Candidates should be educated to degree level, or equivalent, ideally with good experience of direct marketing processes and media (on- and off-line), plus relevant marketing experience within the academic or professional journals publishing sector. The person appointed will preferably have good knowledge of the online publishing environment, in addition to knowledge of the STM publishing market. A successful background in managing high profile, innovative international marketing plans and campaigns should be supported by highly practical organisational and strong analytical skills, plus sound commercial awareness and financial management ability. Excellent communication and presentation skills, plus the ability to demonstrate initiative, strategic thinking and creative flair, are all important requirements for this busy role.
