Sales Director

The job: A high profile international publisher who produces a wide range of branded market leading illustrated reference consumer books is looking to recruit a Sales Director to head up and to drive its commercial strategy into all markets. You will be a key member of the International and UK leadership team and accountable for delivering ambitious sales revenue targets in all EMEA regions and the role will also cover developing all online direct and retail sales. Responsibilities include managing the heads of the UK and International sales teams, developing, implementing and leading a National Account strategy, working in conjunction with the marketing teams to optimise promotional budgets and making an important contribution to developing market insights and strategic thinking to both the publishing and product development teams.

The person: This is a high profile role and you will need to have strong proven sales leadership expereince as well as possessing a wide range of sales and communication skills and be able to demonstrate some previous success developing sales of consumer brands into retail markets and other sales channels. You will require exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to be successful and also have an innovative and creative approach to sales management. Some experience of major brand development would be highly advantageous for this role. The successful applicant will also have experience of change management, excellent people management skills, a motivating style inspiring an experienced team of sales professionals, and a willingness to be hands-on when needed and not be stuck behind a desk and a passion for travel is an important requisite of this role.
